Vacancies- Exciting News

In January 2019, we will begin to look for new teachers to join our teaching team with  appointments expected for April 2019 and September 2019.

We have had substantial staffing changes over the last year and are now looking for the final few teachers to complete our team. It is our intention, as a team of teachers, to support each other during the school improvement process  to make sure that the children, staff and parents of Buckfastleigh Primary have the school that they deserve.

If you would like to have an informal tour, please contact the Office to make an appointment. You can have the opportunity to meet some of the new staff and hear and see how they have been having an impact in school. You can meet some of our Y6 children and hear their views on how school has changed in a very short period of time.

Although we are working hard to boost attainment and progress, especially for our disadvantaged students, we are building for the long-term future for the school and everyone associated with it.

The Headteacher's aim is to build a high performing staff team based on collaborative support where all staff are encouraged and supported to develop their skills and experience. This is from teachers and support staff  to midday supervisors.

The Headteacher and staff have a clear focus on what they are aiming to do, how they will do it and the values that will be upheld and developed.

Vision, Strategy and Values

At Buckfastleigh Primary School, we aim to help children to learn to joyfully embrace the highest challenges they can, in order to improve their own lives and the lives of others.

Strategy - How will we get there:

By building persistence, resilience and aspiration.

By having the highest expectations for everyone, regardless of previous attainment and background, supporting everyone to reach those expectations.

By having adults who are welcoming, positive and calm who build relationships with children based on trust and mutual respect.

We care about:

Children being respected, being heard and having a say in their lives.

Children having exciting life choices as they develop and grow.

Adults (staff and parents) having the opportunity to grow, develop and contribute fully to children’s learning and development.
