The School Day

Our School Day

Our school day begins at 8:35 am when the gates are open and staff are present on the playground. Our school day ends at 3:20 pm.

Our classes start:

Upper KS2:  Skylarks and Swifts 'free flow' into their classes to begin learning on 'Early Bird' activities from 8:35 am.

Lower KS2: Parrot class and Kingfisher class have a bell at 8:45 am, line up with their teachers, shake hands and enter school through the Foyer.

Early Years and KS1: These classes have a whistle at 8:50 am, they line up on the Front Playground with their teachers and enter school through the KS1 door. This door is attended by an adult.

Registers are taken at 8:55 am and after this, children are marked as late, and have to be signed in at the main office.

Our school day ends at 3:20 pm and all children must be picked up from their class teacher unless we have permission from a parent/carer.

Childminders and external after-school clubs must pick the children up from the class teacher. This is for safeguarding and communication and no exceptions will be made unless we have written permission from a child's parent/carer.

Enrichment Clubs

Additional clubs are organised by school and children need to have a completed permission slip to attend a club which means staying on after the end of the school day at 3:20 pm. The ending times of clubs are on the permission slip letters.

We already have a breakfast club and we hope to announce arrangements for our own after school club, using our own staff. This is due to start in September and will run until 6:00 pm. Further details will be available after half term.
