We are looking for an outstanding teacher who is keen to continue to further develop their leadership skills by working closely with our Headteacher in the role of Assistant Headteacher. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of leading an area of whole school improvement and would be able to shape the future vision for our wonderful school. In the first year this role will be non- class based with a 0.5 teaching commitment across the classes, enabling the successful candidate to fully establish themselves in the senior leadership role and support teaching and learning across the school. You will lead on developing strong strategies and cultures for supporting disadvantaged children and the ability to lead English would be preferable although not essential.

Required for September 2017, Buckfastleigh Primary School is looking for someone who has excellent organisation skills, a great sense of humour and is able to cope with change and unpredictability in their working day. We require an experienced administrator to work in our busy school office. You will be the first point of contact for parents and visitors and therefore being approachable, friendly and having excellent communication skills is essential. The successful candidate will be well supported in their role and join a team of administrators working closely together across all the schools within our Academy, along with our Chief Finance and Personnel Officers. Your role would expose you to a range of sensitive information and therefore confidentiality is essential. You will be required to perform a range of admin tasks including: dealing with correspondence and communications with parents and pupils, managing our Free School Meals, Admissions, Attendance, Educational Visits Co-ordination, updating the school website and manage the admin for school trips including facilitating the risk assessment systems employed by the school and be responsible for uploading statutory Pupil Data.
We are looking for someone who has the following skills and qualities:
- A high level of ability in Literacy and Numeracy and all forms of ICT
- Be able to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate a calm and professional approach
- Have a good sense of humour
Job type: Permanent, Part-time (27.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year).
Salary Scale: D SCP 18-22
Hours of work: 8.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 3.45pm (Mon, Wed & Fri)
8.30am-1.00pm (Tues & Thurs)
